A Triad of Moral Pitfalls

Hawzah News Agency- The Holy Prophet (pbuh and his family) said:

إِنَّ أَسْرَعَ الْخَیْرِ ثَوَاباً الْبِرُّ وَ إِنَّ أَسْرَعَ الشَّرِّ عِقَاباً الْبَغْیُ وَ کَفَی بِالْمَرْءِ عَیْباً أَنْ یَنْظُرَ مِنَ النَّاسِ إِلَی مَا یَعْمَی عَنْهُ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ وَ یُعَیِّرَ النَّاسَ بِمَا لَا یَسْتَطِیعُ تَرْکَهُ وَ یُؤْذِیَ جَلِیسَهُ بِمَا لَا یَعْنِیهِ.

Indeed,

1. The swiftest good to be rewarded is benevolence (righteousness), and the swiftest evil to be punished is injustice (transgression).

2. It suffices as a fault in a person to see in others what he is blind to in himself, to reproach people for what he himself cannot abandon,

3. and To offend his companion with that which does not concern him.
